Who We Are

We established Plant Productions in 2004 with clients located in Melbourne’s south-east and the Mornington Peninsula region. Paul, a qualified horticulturist with more than 25 years experience, specialises in hedge trimming and pruning of deciduous, ornamental trees and shrubs.

In addition to our pruning service, we also provide garden consultations, gardening maintenance, and plant selection and sourcing. Our services incorporate sustainable environmental practices such as mulching and drought tolerant plantings.

We adopt a consultative approach to ensure our recommendations and gardening services reflect the lifestyle and personality of our clients. We are dedicated to meeting our clients’ expectations and facilitating more time for relaxation and enjoyment of the garden. Scheduled visits throughout the year enable each garden to be monitored as it matures. Our dedicated approach and customer service distinguishes us from the ordinary.

Hedge trimming, pruning and shaping of ornamental trees and shrubs

The most common reasons for trimming trees and shrubs are to promote healthy growth, remove problematic branches that may cause harm or damage and to maintain shape. There are accepted standards of practice in order to achieve this, and we therefore recommend that your green life is assessed by someone knowledgeable. Incorrect trimming, pruning and shaping may lead to disease, a decline in growth and sometimes death. In addition, the degree of trimming and pruning required may be determined by some of the following factors:

  • Species, age and location
  • Disease
  • Insufficient or over supply of water
  • Storm damage

We understand that your trees and shrubs are very precious, often taking many years to mature. Prior to the commencement of work we assess the health of your green life. Any factors identified which could have an adverse impact on the proposed work are discussed.

Garden Consultations

Planning changes for any garden is not always easy. Consideration needs to be given to variables such as the amount of time you have to spend in the garden, its location, style, soil type, and the amount of shade and sun. We are happy discuss these and your ideas to ensure the best outcome is achieved to suit your lifestyle and garden.

We are dedicated to ensuring our clients have more time to relax and enjoy the garden. In consultation, we determine a maintenance programme and schedule visits throughout the year. This ensures your garden is monitored as it matures and any gardening issues or problems may be discussed and managed.

Plant selection and sourcing

We provide you with ideas and unbiased help in the selection and sourcing of plants suitable for your garden.

Quotations are provided on inspection and free of charge, excluding garden consultations.
